Onboard Programming Instructions

These procedures are if you are programming 2001+ GM "EXPORT" vehicles equipped with the PK3+ system. Export Vehicles are easily identified by a "2" or a "3" digit in the in the first position of the VIN.
*******************Originate New Master Key.********************
1. After key is properly cut, Insert new key into ignition cylinder and turn it to the (ON) or (RUN) position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten minutes.
2. When the security light goes out, Turn the ignition to the off position and then back to the (ON) or (RUN) position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten more minutes.
3. When the security light goes out, Turn the ignition to the off position and then back to the (ON) or (RUN) position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten more minutes.
4. When the security light has gone off for the third time the key has been programmed into the vehicles computer and will operate the car.
TO PROGRAM SUBSEQUENT KEYS (UP TO 12).
Within 20 seconds of completing the fist programmed key, insert a second master and turn to the "ON" position until light goes out, repeat this step up to 12 keys.

1. Insert the first working key into the cylinder and turn "ON".
2. When the security light goes out, remove the key.
3. Insert the second working key into the cylinder and turn "ON".
4. When the security light goes out, remove the key.
5. Insert the new duplicate key into the cylinder and turn "ON".
6. When the security light goes out, the key has been programmed.
